The leader of Burma's democracy movement, Aung San Suu Kyi, says while her country has the basic makings of democracy, its citizens must cast aside fears of political persecution to take the initiative. Speaking to RTHK in Rangoon, half a year after being released from house arrest, Ms Suu Kyi insisted that her country is nonetheless ready for full democracy.
