Garry Kasparov was unable to attend the San Francisco Freedom Forum on September 28, where he was scheduled to present the Vaclav Havel Prize for Creative Dissent to Burmese human rights leader Aun Aung San Suu Kyi. With pressing issues before the Russian opposition movement in Moscow, Kasparov sent this video message to the SF Freedom Forum.

I was very disappointed I could not travel as planned to the San Francisco Freedom Forum last week. I was to present the amazing human rights leader Aung San Suu Kyi with the Vaclav Havel Prize for Creative Dissent. But with so many important meetings and elections in the Russian opposition I had to stay here in Moscow.
